Last week, children from Year 6 went on a trip to How Stean Gorge where they conquered their fears and learnt lots of new skills!

During the visit, the children did challenges which meant they had to take risks as well as trying out new things for the first time.  The children enjoyed canoeing, gorge scrambling, caving, orienteering and abseiling.  They also tried via ferrata, a way of climbing rocks.

On their return, Archie said, “I enjoyed the caving best as it was a daring activity to do.  Inside, it was cold and I felt claustrophobic but I still enjoyed it.”  Harley added, “I enjoyed the gorge walking on the first day.  I thought it was going to be an easy start but jumping in with a wet suit on was anything but.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
