This term, the children in Year 6 have been making their own computer game using and applying some of the skills that they have learnt from previous year groups. The children have built on the skills that they have used when working on Scratch and Crumble in Key Stage 2 in order to make their own game. By using coding, this week, the class has programmed the Kodu to score a point when it eats a special apple! After a lesson, Jaxson said, “I have learnt how to program the Kodu. I am able to use the combat button to either shoot or squash a character.” Daisy added, “To make the game more challenging, we have added obstacles, such as rocks and trees, which stop the Kodu from collecting the apples.”
