Last week, Year 5 had a special visit from the vicar, Father Robert Hart, of St Helen’s Church to talk about his faith and how he helps others.
The class have been learning about the role of community, voluntary and pressure groups in their RE lessons. Now, the children will be able to compare these groups to how the church, and charities such as Christian Aid, supports people in our local area and further afield.
After the visit, Harris said, “We learnt that charity can mean love and action which Jesus showed through his work with the disciples.” Elaina added, “Christian Aid works in more than fifty countries of the world supporting some of the poorest places from the effects of a flood or a tsunami.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
Year 1: Elsie Davis
Year 2: Harper Warren
