This term, the children in years 3 and 4 are having the chance to work with the Leeds United Foundation by taking part in a special after-school club. As well as improving their football skills, the children are learning about how data analysts improve the performance of different athletes. By using and applying their mathematics skills, the children are interpreting and presenting sports data. After a session, Oscar said, “I have been able to practise my passing and dribbling skills with the coach in lots of fun games.” Ben added, “I have been able to do some maths problem solving skills linked to football problems. So far, we have looked at pictograms and bar charts.”
