Wellbeing Training

21.06.2024

Last week, some of our children in years 3 and 4 took part in mental health and wellbeing training so that they can support others around school. The visitor trained the children on how to solve problems that others might have. At the start, the children were quite adamant on trying to solve the problems. By the end, they understood that the role is about listening carefully to the other person and asking open questions. After the training, Edith said, “We now know how to approach someone if they are sad.  People react in different ways to things so we must recognise this when supporting.”  Koda added, “Asking open questions helps us to understand what has happened.  Good listening will then allow us to help those who need it.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
