This week, our reading ambassadors hosted an assembly about celebrating difference based on one of their favourite autumn books. The ambassadors shared the story of “Spookley the Square Pumpkin” with the whole of the school. Afterwards, they got chance to ask the children some questions about the story and talked about other books they have chosen to embrace difference. During the assembly, James said, “One of the messages from the story was to make sure that we don’t judge a book by its cover. People shouldn’t feel upset like Spookley.” Iris added, “At the end, people were amazed that the pumpkins were shaped differently and in lots of vibrant colours.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
