This year, our children celebrated World Book Day by reading a book called “The Proudest Blue” and they took part in lots of different activities about the story. Some children wrote diary entries to show how the main characters in the story were feeling reflecting on the themes of acceptance, tolerance and respect. Others learnt more about why a hijab is important to Muslim women. After the assembly, Sunshine said, “I enjoyed reading the book as it teaches everyone about the importance of kindness.” Unqiue added, “The main character reminded me of myself when I first came to the UK. I am glad that people were kind to me when I joined this school.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
