Last week, the children in year 2 visited the Renewi Recycling Centre to learn more about how we can look after our planet. The children found out about how they could reduce their waste, recycle it correctly and reuse items. They discovered that when recycling plastic bottles, you must always ’empty, squash, lids off’ before recycling! They even had a go at recycling the waste from their own packed lunches. Mila said, “It was fun to recycle our own waste. We had to make sure we used the compost, recycling or waste bins correctly.” Eva added, “In groups, we played a game to learn more about the recycling centre. We found out that we could recycle plastic bottles and clothes, and reuse plastic bags.”
