This week, the children in year 2 hosted a special assembly as part of their citizenship award that they are working towards this academic year. The class discussed some important facts about recycling and shared their work to encourage others to reduce, reuse and recycle waste. The class also talked about their recent visit to the Renewi plant and their experiences when they went litter picking. Buddy said, “I learnt that you need to wash, squash and take the lids off bottles when recycling them.” Ava added, “I didn’t realise that when paper is recycled, it can be used for crafting. The assembly will also help our youngest children know what they will be learning about in the future.”
