Last week, the children in year 5 had the opportunity to learn more about Brazil, the country they are studying in class, by taking part in a special workshop. Through a range of drama activities, the children learnt facts about Brazil which they will be able to use in their writing back in the classroom. The class also performed some traditional Brazilian dances that would be seen at a festival. Scarlett said, “We learnt that favelas in Brazil are shanty towns where people often live in poverty without access to services such as hospitals or the police.” Koda added, “Artwork and dances often originate from the favelas due to the creative people that live there.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
