This week, some of the English ambassadors hosted a special assembly to celebrate National Poetry Day. During the assembly, some of the ambassadors read out poems that had special meaning to them and talked about the power of words. Other ambassadors played a word association game with the children. This allowed all of the school to come up with their own poem based on play. Harper said, “I read out a poem that I had written myself. I chose to write about the beach since this is a place that holds lots of special memories for me.” Oakley added, “I have enjoyed reading poems and then writing my own. I want to enter my finished poem in a local poetry competition.”
