Recently, our school council held a special whole-school assembly where they interviewed local councillor, Melanie Jones. Our children asked thoughtful questions and discovered the skills needed to do a councillor’s job. They also learned more about what her daily role involves and how she support our local community and ensures that everyone’s voice is heard. Amelia said, “We learnt that it is really important as a councillor to know what the community wants but making a decision can be difficult as you won’t be able to please everyone.” James added, “As in our role, a councillor must have good communication and listening skills in their meetings.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
