Last week, Year 5 had a special visit from the vicar, Father Robert Hart, of St Helen’s Church to talk about his faith and how he helps others. The class have been learning about the role of community, voluntary and pressure groups in their RE lessons. Now, the children will be able to compare these groups to how the church, and charities such as Christian Aid, supports people in our local area and further afield. After the visit, Amelia said, “We learnt that charity can mean love and action and this meaning originates from the New Testament.” Ben added, “Christian Aid works to stop poverty whilst offering better sanitation and education to those countries around the world that need it the most.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
