Last week, some members of our school council attended a special Armistice Service at the Hemsworth Memorial. The children who represented the academy joined members of the community as they watched the parade and observed a two-minute silence. The children also got the opportunity to meet a 100-year-old veteran who served with the parachute regiment. Afterwards, Chase said, “Members of the community spoke about the importance of Remembrance Day. I believe that it’s a time to remember and thank the people who served in the war. They kept our world safe and that’s the reason we are here today.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
