Recently, the children in Upper Key Stage 2 had a visit from the local fire service to promote fire safety in and out of the home. The children listened to the dangers of having a fire in the garden for Bonfire Night and learnt why it would be safer to go to an organised event. They also considered the importance of having a fire safety plan and talked about what they should do if a fire actually started in the family home. Afterwards, Tommy said, “In the event of a fire, we must stop, drop and roll as this will help us to breathe as well as extinguishing any flames on our clothes.” Ava added, “Going to an organised event for Bonfire Night is a safer option as they are more prepared for an emergency.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
