Last week, the children in year 2 went litter picking to consolidate the work that they have been doing on looking after the environment in their lessons. The class got the chance to pick up litter that had been left near the school’s perimeter fence. By doing this, the children learnt about being responsible global citizens and recognised the importance of taking a pride in our local community. Oliver said, “We found different drinks cans and food packaging. It was fun to collect them in our bin bags.” Iris added, “It was great to help the community. No one should drop litter because it can be dangerous for animals. In class, we also read Duffy’s Lucky Escape which highlights the risk of plastic waste to sealife.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
