This week, the winners were announced of the year 6 “Bake Off” competition. The class have been learning about how to make bread in their design and technology lessons. They have discovered how to use techniques such as kneading, folding, braiding and plaiting. Their final bakes were judged against the design brief and the winners were awarded a special “star baker” apron. Miss Lodge, one of the judges, said, “I could see the skill it had taken to mould the bread into different shapes and I was really impressed with the children’s attention to detail within their decorations too.” Pippa added, “Our design had to appeal to young children so that’s why I added a festive hat, made from fondant icing, to my plait.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
