Last week, children from Year 6 went on a trip to How Stean Gorge where they conquered their fears and learnt lots of new skills!
During the visit, the children did challenges which meant they had to take risks as well as trying out new things for the first time. The children enjoyed gorge scrambling, caving, orienteering and abseiling. They also tried via ferrata, a way of climbing rocks. Ethan said, “I enjoyed the caving best as I overcame my fear of small spaces. Inside, it was cold and I felt claustrophobic but I still completed the challenges.” Amelia added, “I enjoyed the gorge walking. I thought it was going to be an easy but jumping in with a wet suit on was anything but.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
