Last week, the children in year 2 visited the Thackray Medical Museum to learn more about the life of Florence Nightingale. The children have been learning about keeping healthy in the classroom as well as how hospitals had changed over time. At the museum, they acted out different scenarios that would have happened when Florence Nightingale reached Scutari during the Crimean War. Afterwards, Ava said, “A lady dressed up as Florence Nightingale and told us about her life. We learnt that she loved school but her sister always distracted her.” Angela added, “I liked when we went onto Disease Street. In 1820, the streets were dirty and animals ran free.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
