A proud member of

Samba Drumming

30.04.2021

This half-term, the children have started to learn more about samba drumming with the help of  Wakefield Music Services.
A specialist teacher has been showing the children the different instruments that are part of a samba band. The children have been using untuned percussion instruments to play back rhythms accurately.  They have been creating music with long and short repeated patterns.
After one of the lessons, Holly said, “I have enjoyed listening to the rhythms that we had to repeat.  We have to listen carefully to play with confidence.”  Archie added, “I have enjoyed playing the agogo bells and the shakers.  The giant drum was harder to play as I had to get the beat right to lead others.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
