This week, Year 1 had the chance to meet and speak to Bethany England who is a footballer for Chelsea and England.
The children found out more about Bethany including how she became interested in joining a girl’s football team at a young age. They also discovered how she trained hard every day which meant that she ended up for playing for Chelsea – one of the best women’s football teams in Europe.
After the meeting, Edith said, “We learnt that we need to keep on trying with anything that we want to do in life.” All the class agreed that it was fantastic that Bethany had already scored ninety-four professional goals and they can’t wait to hear when she reaches one hundred goals!
