This half-term, the children in Year 5 are learning all about space in their history and science lessons.

To help them remember more facts, the children have been making models at home. The children decided whether they wanted to make a representation of the whole solar system or just focus on their favourite planet.  This homework was shared with their classmates so they could explain in detail what they made.

After one of the science lessons, Lucy said, “I have used a mnemonic to help me remember the names of all the planets in the correct order from the sun.” Ethan added, “There were lots of failed attempts to land on the moon but the first successful team to do it was the Americans in 1969.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.

Year 2:  Shay Lawton
