This week, children from Year 6 went on a trip to How Stean Gorge where they conquered their fears and learnt lots of new skills!

During the visit, the children did challenges which meant they had to take risks as well as trying out new things for the first time. The children enjoyed gorge scrambling, caving, orienteering and abseiling. They also tried via ferrata, a way of climbing rocks.

Fraizer, Pippa and Tilly said, “We loved sliding down the rocks during gorge walking and jumping into the plunge pools even though it was FREEZING! The caves were dark but full of laughter, teamwork and spiders but unfortunately no stolen gold! It’s been great to help each other to overcome our fears.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.

Year 2:  Arthur Thomas
