Hitting the Target

02.07.21

This half-term, the children in year 3 have had the opportunity to learn archery with a specialist teacher.

The school is continuing to use some of its sports funding to give our children the chance to try new sports.  The children have been learning how to hold a bow and arrow correctly and how to aim at the target.  Over time, the children have become more accurate with their shots and even hit the centre!

After one of the sessions, Sonny said, “I have enjoyed learning how to improve my aim by keeping my elbow in the air and the other arm straight.”  Theo added, “I enjoyed when the teacher made it harder by moving the target back.  It made me think about how to change my aim.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
