A proud member of

Harvest Festival

07.10.22

Last week, the children in years 3 and 4 hosted a special assembly for their parents to celebrate the Harvest festival. In preparation for the assembly, the children researched Harvest festivals around the world.  Our children know that Christians celebrate the Harvest festival by singing, praying and giving food to people in need. This is because the festival is a celebration of the food grown on land. Harry said, “We also learnt about the Harvest Moon festival which is celebrated in different countries in Asia such as China, Mongolia and Indonesia.”  Lily added, “These people celebrate the festival not by donating food but by lighting lanterns and sharing mooncakes.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.

Year 1: Mia Slater-Gillespie

Year 2: Sarah Djalo

Year 3: Edith Clough

Year 4: Riley Belcher

Year 5: Jensen Wood

Year 6: Ebony Hardman
