Fantastic Fieldwork

This week, the children in Year 6 took their geography lesson outside and completed some fieldwork. The children walked around Hemsworth to look at the different ways that the land is used and has been built on. The children drew sketch maps of physical and human features. They will add detail to their drawings by adding the correct geographical words when they are back in the classroom. After the fieldwork, Charlie and Olivia said, “We started to draw a detailed sketch map on the walk which showed the different types of land use in our local area. The drawings including some residential buildings and some land used for agriculture.”
