Recently, the children in Year 3 visited the JORVIK Viking Centre to learn more about the famous explorers that they have been studying in class.
The children took part in an excavation workshop where they had to dig to discover historical artefacts from 2,000 years ago. The class also went on a rollercoaster, which was lots of fun, to experience life as a Viking and took in the sights of smells of Britain at that time.
Afterwards, Teyla said, “I enjoyed looking at and holding the artefacts that Vikings used when they were fighting. They were extremely heavy!” Harley-Jaye added, “The axes and the swords were my favourite artefacts because the handles were decorated in different designs.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
